Startup artificial intelligence-driven news and data aggregator FinTech Studios has hired Jim Maclay as sales consultant, reporting to co-founder and chief executive Jim Tousignant.

Before joining FinTech Studios, Maclay spent a year as regional sales manager at security software vendor Fortinet, prior to which he served as Americas sales manager at MDX Technology. Before MDX, Maclay was senior vice president and head of sales at West Highland Support Services, where he also spent almost four years between 2008 and 2012. From 2014 to mid-2015, Maclay was managing director at Social Market Analytics, prior to which he spent two years as business development director at Interactive Data. Before his first stint at West Highland, Maclay was vice president of market data sales at Citigroup-owned Lava Trading, before which he spent 15 years at Thomson Financial, including as a senior vice president in the vendor’s enterprise sales group.

“Jim Maclay has a successful, 20 year-plus track record as a top enterprise sales executive in the financial information services market. Jim’s skills, customer rolodex and deep knowledge of the market data and analytics market will help FinTech Studios quickly expand our growing customer base of leading banks, brokerage firms, asset managers and corporations using our machine learning and AI-based news and Big Data analytics apps and intelligent cloud platform,” Tousignant says.
